Run Together with Centra for Action Cancer

12 May 2019 - 20 October 2019

Get fit and have fun at Centra’s 5K charity Run Together events throughout the summer. Simply run, jog or walk with a friend, the kids or even the dog and help raise funds for Action Cancer.

Everyone who takes part will receive a free T-shirt, bespoke Run Together medal, a free lunch and food samples. On the day, there will also be face painting and entertainment for all the family.

The first five events are free to enter, however in lieu of the entry fee we are asking participants to donate and raise funds. Simply raise what you can!

For the first time, a more challenging 10K race has been added to the Run Together series, aimed at those seeking to take their running journey to the next level.

For the big finale at Ormeau Park, a small entry fee will apply to both the 5K and 10K races, with 100% of the fee donated to Action Cancer.

If you register and tick the ‘I would love to raise money for Action Cancer’ box, you will receive a fundraising pack and any fundraising materials you may need. We simple ask each runner that signs up to fundraise, to raise what they can.

The aim is to raise a huge £20,000, that will go towards supporting Action Cancer’s Health Action Schools Programme, supported by Centra.

Our Health Action School’s , supported by Centra, is designed to improve knowledge of health and to empower children and young people to make the right lifestyle choices.

Up to 50% of certain cancers can be prevented by making small, simple change to our lifestyle, so by educating children from an early age, it is easy to imagine that Centra’s Health Action Heroes will make more children develop healthier habits and so save lives and reduce cancer risks as our children grow up.

Since 2003, our Health Action Programmes have worked with over 500,000 pupils across Northern Ireland.
