Why Make A Will

Importance of a Will

Organising a will and keeping it up to date is the only way to ensure that your possessions and finances are divided up according to your wishes. It is about remembering the people and the causes you care about.
It’s not difficult or expensive to make a will, most people are surprised at how easy it is – it’s one of the few opportunities you have to give large amounts to family, friends and favourite charities, plan for dependents and it can also help your family avoid inheritance tax.

A will provides you with the opportunity to provide a gift to a charity close to your heart. A gift or legacy to Action Cancer will help secure the future of our vital work - saving lives and supporting people affected by cancer.
A gift to charity in your will does not have to be huge – large and small legacies make a real impact for Action Cancer.

Legacy gifts to charities are tax-free under current legislation.  There are three types of gift. You can:

• Leave a share of your estate (a residuary gift)
• Leave a fixed amount of money (a pecuniary gift)
• Leave a particular item (a specific gift)
