3 Steps to ‘Action Your Will’:

• Make Your Appointment

View our list of participating solicitors and contact one to make your appointment.

• Plan Your Will

Complete the Action Will Planner to bring with you when you meet your solicitor

• Meet the Solicitor

Use your planner to advise the solicitor of your needs for your will.  They will ask about your property, valuables and sentimental items and who you would like your estate to benefit after your debts have been settled i.e. your beneficiaries, each of whom will be specifically named in your will. You will also name an executor who will carry out your wishes when the time comes. The solicitor will draw up your will for signature by you and a witness. Once it is set up, it can be updated easily and cost effectively by your solicitor.
Your solicitor will waive their usual fee, inviting you to instead make a donation to Action Cancer.  You can make this by cheques made payable to Action Cancer, or cash to the solicitor.  Suggested donations are £80 for a basic will and £100 for a pair of basic mirror wills.  For every £80 raised, Action Cancer can screen another women for breast cancer and for every 1000 women we screen, an average of 7 breast cancers are detected.
If your Will is more complex, you and your solicitor can agree a separate fee for the extra work outside of the Action Your Will Campaign.
