Placement Opportunities
Action Cancer can offer a number of placement opportunties across a number of departments. Currently, we work with both the University of Ulster and Queen's University, Belfast to provide students an opportunity to gain experience in the work place in order to complete their studies. The opportunities available mean the students can have a range of backgrounds, such as food and nutrition, health promotion, psychology, sociology or research.
Project Opportunities
There are also opportunities for students to work with Action Cancer to develop a research project to use for their undergraduate or postgraduate studies. Currently, Action Cancer are working with both NI universities as well as Belfast Metropolitan College. Again the students can have a range of backgrounds.
Volunteer Opportunities
Within the Research and Evaluation department there is the opportunity to volunteer. Volunteers within this area are able to assist with data collection, data inputting, data analysis and reporting. We use SPSS as our standard software package and these volunteer opportunities give students the chance to gain practical experience alongside their academic qualifications.
For more information on any of these opportunities please contact Dr Caroline Hughes at chughes@actioncancer.org or call 02890803344.
